Amethyst is the violet variety of quartz; its color comes from trace iron and natural irradiation deep in the host rock. A double terminated point develops two natural faces rather than onean uncommon growth pattern that preserves the crystal's full symmetry from tip to tip. Each piece is hand polished, the violet tone shifting from pale at the edges to richest at the growth axis
